Sustainable Development Goals: What can I do?

So often we are struck by disturbing stories of challenges faced by people of the world. Most of the time it's something happening "over there" and you just read a story and sympathise internally. Other times a story of a challenge faced, comes from your neighborhood or local newspaper. We often wave our fists at government or type a sympathetic/raging response on some social media thread."Take that!"...You've spoken, and for a few moments you feel that you have contributed. If you're on-point, you might get a few likes and one-liners from those that support your view. Perhaps you just started punching text onto your keyboard and have not read all 859 previous comments and another upset member of society rips you to pieces. Right there for all to see. "Well right back at you buddy!" and eventually you slam closed your laptop and take off in a huff. "I sure told that guy" You tell yourself...

What was the challenge faced by that community again? How have you contributed?...

If you're this emotional about a problem, that perhaps also affects your life, why don't you help make a difference?..."But, what can I do? What difference can I really make?..." You'll be surprised my friend and this is where The Ladder wants to help.

We seek challenging community projects and invite members of that community and other experts to help us ideate or innovate on a problem, using your collective knowledge and experience. Sustainability. Safe space for my kids. Crime in my neighborhood. Unemployment. Housing crisis. My energy bill is too high each month. High rent and low footfall for local business. Green spaces. Garbage riddled streets and our local schools are struggling.Polluted rivers and oceans. Much needed innovation...The list goes on.

We want to do a nationwide roadshow and give people a tool to solve their own problem at community level. Bring active innovators together with the people to help accelerate change from the ground up. Test and validate great ideas and showcase them to the world to inspire other to take action.

We provide Design Sprint workshops taken from the tech and commercial industry and teach these skill to those with no access to these expertise, in order for solve their own problems with others also affected.

The funding will go towards materials needed to run these workshops and transport for our facilitators. We will work with community and seek support for other resources such as accomodation and meals for our team. We will also ask for support from local government or organisations participating in our workshops that can help fund remuneration cost.

What we seek from those that can afford to donate to the project, is funding for operational activities. The rest we will attempt to acquire through corporate/investment funding.
