This all started at least four years ago when my father left. My mother and father had split up previously in terms of their relationship after prolonged unhappiness but regardless my father still lived with us for some time.

It wasn't a big deal, I suppose. He worked abroad as a Security Consultant in Afghanistan so we only met our father a few times a year - two or three weeks at any given time. As a result when he was at home me and my siblings never really hat time to grow much of a bond to him. He was nice at times, and nasty at others. But how awful he treated my mother I knew all to well. For the most part the drama happened in the background so myself and my siblings were left blissfully unaware. However, I remember one account of his vile behaviour.

We were visiting our family to catch up and we were about to leave due to my father's behaviour that night which stemmed from how drunk he had become. I was waiting in the car with my siblings and my mother and father accompanied us in short time. They both entered the car and within mere seconds my father turned to my mother, murmured something I couldn't make out, and spat at my mother for no apparent reason. We decided that we were better off staying the night with the family instead of taking the long drive back due to his unstable and unpredictable behaviour.

Moving on, some 18 months later, he was at work. Difference being, this time he never came back. No contact, financial support, nothing. He left his family behind knowing full well how bad our lives were to become as a result. Not only from our sudden cut of income from his occupation, not only from my father taking as much money as possible from my mothers and fathers joint account, but because he jointly owns our house with my mother.

Soon after, a tragedy hit. The tragedy being, the death of my grandmother. My mother was in tears. I can only imagine the pain and hopelessness she must have felt, and still feels to this day. Rest in peace grandmother, and I hope you find better days mum.

Anyway, my mother was studying at the time but was forced to find work to take care of us and had to move three times to do so. We tried to rent the house out, but the bank wouldn't let us because it is jointly owned by my father. We couldn't put it up for repossession either for the same reason. Our only option was to go through the division of sale.

My mother paid what she could towards the mortgage until 21 months ago as she simply couldn't afford to keep going. It was shortly after she decided on the division of sale to get the best possible price for the house and so she didn't owe too much money. The Legal Aid started over two years ago - I believe she pays £34 a month towards it. Hopefully this would cover the legal fees. She has done up the house up as vacant since and continues to look after it. It's still up for sale but by the time the bank has repossessed it, we will be left in thousands and thousands of pounds in debt.

In summary, we feel let down. Let down by the Government, the bank, our Solicitors, our luck and most of all our father. So we reach out to our community, in hopes of finding salvation amidst the never ending darkness.

We are in desperate need of your help. Please help us put an end to this torment.

I apologise if this appears convoluted. I'm honestly trying my very best to deliver this story. To remember everything as it happened. I also wish to apologise for the lack of a Profile Photo. I suffer from extreme anxiety. I hope you understand.

If you made it this far I thank you. For reading, for your time and most importantly of all, your kindness. I hope you have a great day.
