I love games! For as long as I can remember I've loved board and card games. Winning or losing has never really mattered that much. It's always been more about hanging out with my friends, having some laughs and if somebody happens to win great but as long as we all have fun who cares. For years now I've been sharing my love of games with the good people at the CONvergence science fiction/fantasy convention in Minneapolis Minnesota, staging events  introducing people to new fun games they may have never played before.  For some time now I've been looking to find a way to combine my love of games with almost thirty years of experience as a retail professional and open my own game store. Hence Shamrock Games and this crowdfund event. I've got the knowledge and I've got the skills. What I don't have is the starter capital and I'm hoping you good people can help in that respect.

When I originally conceived of owning my own games and comic book business I saw it as a stand alone brick and mortar operation like many others here in town.  But research showed that that would be prohibitively expensive. Too much startup money required to have any chance at all. A home-based business selling new games at a lower price than can be found in stores is another matter. Simply stated Shamrock Games -named in honor of my Irish heritage and the prosperity and good luck inherent in the image- is the first step on what I hope will be a  very successful road making my living doing what I love and serving my community by providing them with the means to spend time having fun with their friends and loved ones. We will sell games online at roughly 75% of MSRP with the eventual long term goal of funding a brick and mortar location where people can come to hang out, shop and play their favorite games.

If you love games, or believe in supporting small local businesses or are a member of the Twin Cities fannish community who has sat in on a demo of Munchkin, Cards Against Humanity, Kung Fu Fighting, All Flesh Must Be Eaten or any of a dozen other games I've run at CONvergence please contribute whatever you can. Anyone contributing $10 USD or more will be entered into our Clover Club which will entitle them to 10% off all purchases for a year . And yes, that is ten percent off the already discounted price. So if a game costs $15 in our inventory and you are a Clover Club member you will be paying $13.50 instead. For a game that would probably cost you $25 in a more traditional shop. And that will apply to all purchases regardless of size for the next year.  So please, give generously, tell your friends, family and fellow geeks about this and thank you in advance for your support.
