The Idea

Once upon a time, at the edge of a dark forest, stood a village. “Don’t you ever go into the woods! Death awaits you there!” heard the little girl ever since she was a small child. But the woods tempted the girl even though her parents warned her every day.

Long and lonely years went by and the girl was getting older. Somedays she would stand alone at the edge, gazing into the forbidden wood...

'About A Girl Gone Into the Woods' is not a classic fairy tale.It´s a story about overcoming your fears, even though this voice inside of your head tells you a different story. Or people around you want to make you believe something else.

It´s a story about trust and self-confidence - not easy to get as we all know, but still not impossible.

The story

The young girl lives in a village surrounded by a dark forest together with her family. No one has ever tried to go to that forbidden place. Fateful, dark and full of dangers - the forest, the home of greatest fear. But yet the girl is drawn to it. There must be something hidden in the woods. With every step she goes deeper into the forest she looks back. "What if Mum and Dad were right?”, but there is no turning back at all.

Who we are

Sinem, the writer, was a German teacher before and is now a school book author, that´s her debut. Nadja is an art student focused within photography, she has realised a couple of her own projects.

We met on a set for a music video shoot. This encounter wasn´t just a coincidence. Nadja was searching for a fairy tale, unpublished, in order to finish her thesis at art school. Sinem remembered there is already a story just waiting in her drawer for a couple of years.
