Why India? It's not about the destination but the experience. During my journey through nursing school so far I have gained a lot of insight on cultural differences and barriers that are prominent in the healthcare system today. In various countries around the world, healthcare conditions are not sustainable for adequate care. Lack of proper equipment for procedures, unsanitary conditions, lack of knowledge related to health are a few examples of conditions I am referring to. I want this experience to have the opportunity to broadened my knowledge medically and culturally. The chance to interact with residents to hear their stories. To be exposed to a different culture. I want to make a difference with my nursing degree, I hope this experience will inspire that difference.
