During the month of July (3rd-24th), I will be travelling to Ghana to volunteer in an orphanage. The organisation that I will be travelling with is Plan My Gap Year. For the duration of my stay in Ghana I will be located at a children's home in Kumasi, where I will work alongside a team of staff to help assist with any daily activities, child care and the running of the orphanage. Throughout my stay at Kumasi I will have plenty of opportunities to create fun and inventive activities for the children to do.
I will be travelling to Ghana with three others from Leeds Beckett University: Naomi Holland, Surinder Chahal and Melody Peterson
We are participating in various different fundraising activities such as:
- Abseiling- From the top of Leeds Beckett University 10-storey high Portland building
- Numerous cake sales-e.g. At the Foundry Church, Widnes
- Bag packing at various supermarkets
- Plus, many more ideas to come...
Please support, and donate, I will be very grateful. This is an opportunity of a lifetime, and I cannot wait to embark on it.
