A Woman’s Tale of Temporary Woe

If I had $10,000 to send to my friend of 20 years, I'd do it. But sadly, I'm on survival mode as well. So I thought I'd just put this out to the Universe, God, Goddess, Buddha, Allah and/or good people.

My friend had a man pull the old "bait and switch" maneuver while she surprisingly got pregnant at 40. After starting a little business with him, it became apparent he'd rather be connected to social media leaving her holding the bag. So after some further downturns she decided to divorce.

She moved back with her mother and then found a job 3 hours drive from her mother's home with the promise of a great commission position. Her mom has been a saint. But the stress is never ending because the job wasn't as promising as promised and the divorce is at a stalemate. The soon-to-be-ex's father is an attorney. So while he gets free legal services, my friend has to pay full price for an attorney who's turned out to be less than an ally.

After knowing this woman for 20 years, I know that this is just a trial for her. She's held very responsible positions in the past as an art teacher in a small college and as the events coordinator for the alumni of a prestigious university high school at one of the Southern universities that rivals the Ivy Leagues. She's a sharp cookie. No joke.

So my plea to any kind-hearted person who has some extra money to contribute to a good cause, please help if you can. We're all tight these days and our futures are unsure in these tumultuous times. But if you can ease the fears of uncertainty for a wonderful person and free her up to be the good mom she is and help her mother feel less stressed too, you would be doing a great service for a very nice family.
