Hello to all the good souls out there. My name is Diana Joy Marbella-Luna, Dannah to my friends here in the Philippines. Just last December 13, I married the most amazing man there is. Dan is sweet, funny, a great dancer (he used to be an athlete for the RP team for aerogymnastics). He's so full of life and ambition, and we have our whole lives ahead of us. Now just a few months later, Dan is diagnosed with esophageal-mediastinal fistula, a vey rare condition wherein there is an opening in his esophagus leading to the cavity between his chest and heart. He is immediately put in tube feeding to avoid the risk of infection. There is also a great chance that he needs to be operated on if he will not respond to the medications. He's currently confined at St. Luke's Medical Center here in Quezon City, his patient id num is 140611463. Unfortunately, our HMO will not cover his condition and we are left with a bill that is too much for us to handle. The hospital also stopped giving him medications because they have put us on a cash basis, where we have to buy his own meds. As a wife, it's very hard for me to see him suffer, both phyically and emotionally. He is so stressed out thinking how we can afford to pay for his hospitalization. Our main concern is how to take him out of the hospital if he is to discharged, and his follow on check-ups and possible operation. That's why I'm appealing to all good souls out there to please help me save him. We've only been married for a short time, and I really do not want to lose him. Please help me. I believe in the goodness of people, and I know that God will find a way to help us. Maybe those who read this are His way to answer mine and Dan's prayers. I hope God showers you with blessings.

  • Hello Dannah, I saw your post from a friend's Facebook account. Our family has been through a similar ordeal in the past--we've been in and out of hospital for a few years due to the complications of my dad's diabetes. I was a highschool student at that time and I was worried that his enormous hospital bills wouldn't allow me to continue studying. We were financially unprepared for such incidents. Thankfully, we received help from a lot of people and that crisis made our family even closer. We went through another crisis last year, when typhoon Yolanda hit our home. Again, it felt like the whole world crashed before our very eyes. We lived in fear and financial insecurity.Again, people helped us. Opportunities unexpectedly presented themselves. By God's grace we are slowly bouncing back. Keep your faith up even when everything seems so dark. It will get better. God bless and I will be praying for your husband's health.

  • Biblically speaking, prayers with good works and consistent fasting are also more effective ways to ensure your husband's speedy recovery.
