Campaign Story
Oxford Half Marathon 2015
Vaughan and Agy are running the Oxford Half Marathon this year. Both have always been keen runners. Our good pal Simon isnt able to run, and will soon need a wheelchair to get around. Wheelchairs are surprisingly expensive, so we thought we would try to raise some money towards this. Simons wife is raising money for Whizz Kidz, and so half the money raised will go to that charity. Find out more about them here! http://www.whizz-kidz.org.uk/
Why is this important?
Much as Simon doesn't like to admit it, he is finding it more difficult to get around these days and needs to use the wheel-based alternative more often. To do so, he needs a decent new wheelchair that is actually fit for purpose. The one that he has is too big and heavy to get in and out of the car on his own, and a new wheelchair that will really fit his long-term needs costs about £1500.
How will the money be spent?
His wife is also raising money for the wheelchair. As soon as we reach our goal, we will purchase the wheelchair, and Simon will be able to whizz around... there he goes..
