Being raised in a country that had many injustices against its own people, where reality hit you as soon as you walked out of the confines of your contrived safe houses of the suburbs, I developed a passion for international law and realised the impact it could have on a people who have lost hope in internal change. I then came across Model United Nations, which is a simulation that replicates how the United Nations works and aims to provide viable solutions in a realistic manner to solve the problems the world faces. This gave me hope and encouragement that I could fulfill my dream of eventually changing the country I live in. With no viable tertiary education school, I found myself in South Africa, unable to learn in my home country and that spurned my despair even further... how long could my parents be able to sustain this? And even if they could, their dreams were being put aside and buried under the harsh conditions, corruption and inflation. I had the opportunity to be accepted to go to the Harvard World MUN conference in 2017 in Montrèal, Canada but my parents are unable to sponsor the trip and I have taken up part-time jobs as a tutor and working in the university residence dining hall. However, this cannot cover my return flight or accommodation.

I ask you to help me on my mission to be able to attend this conference as it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend the biggest MUN conference in the world. Any help you can provide I would be eternally grateful.
