Hi. My name is Noor Kasmara Sokarnor, aged 40 from Malaysia. I am a English language lecturer in a local polytechnic. I also do works in cultural activities and certain areas related to arts and cultures. A single parent with three kids aged nine to thirteen years old.
I run a lot of students-related programs during my 17 years experience in education. I am also a part-time photographer.
I was warded for three days in a hospital recently due to a dental issue which leads to high fever and breathing difficulties.
When I was warded, I found it very difficult for me to send details, do write ups, check e-mails, draft my lesson plans, and many more, due to the limitation of my personal phone which I borrowed from my daughter. I know that being warded, you should have just rest. But I was so frustrated at that time as I missed a submission dateline due to me being warded and had no proper tools to solve it at that moment.
Then I realised, especially during this COVID19 pandemic, that it would be helpful if I owned a tablet so I can manage my online learning and manage my works anywhere. My aim is the Apple iPAD which can be viewed here: https://www.apple.com/my/ipad/
I can use it for my works and conduct my classes at ease. I also can use it for group classroom learning better as it has bigger screen size compared to a regular sized phone. I have been implementing paperless classroom for the previous four years. All of the notes are distributed via e-mails and whatsapp application. We also have the CIDOS platform for e-learning.
Even during classes, I would just flip through my phone to read my lecture notes. But as hard as it is, the small size screen makes it difficult for me to browse through each page. I believe the tablet can help my works become easier and better, especially during this new-norm environment.
If I have extra, I will make sure the three of my kids get another tablet each so they also can use it for their online learning.
I set the collection in less than 40 days because online classes resume in the first week of August 2020. So I hope this platform can help me out.
I believe you all can help me. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
My birthday is on 25th June this month, too.
