a SUPERDAD is now an ANGEL

My father, Emelito Abayon, died on May 23,2017 at National Kidney And Transplant Institute or NKTI in the Philippines. He had 2 operations which caused his body to become weaker. We all wanted him to survive. He was such a loving dad, husband to my mom and grandfather. My mother's birthday is on May 22, the day before my dad passed away. We couldn’t even wish our mom a happy birthday even though we wanted her to be happy with our father on her special day.

My dad had his first operation to remove the huge stones in his kidney. We thought it was successful at first. However, a day after the kidney stone was removed, my father’s heart started getting weaker again and his blood level got lower too. The doctor advised us that my father needs a heart surgery. We were devastated but we had to agree to do the surgery for my father. After the second operation, his kidney failed to function. His body organs started to slow down. He eventually stopped eating and drinking because he couldn’t digest anything.

The doctor then told us that my father needs a dialysis but that’s also the time when he started to be unconscious. We didn’t realize it was time to say goodbye to him. His body wasn’t able to survive after 2 surgeries. It was my mom’s birthday and it was the saddest birthday she had but she asked my father for one last gift. That wish is for my father to rest in peace after all the pain he had suffered in the hospital.

So my father died on May 23 at 12:19 am. His hospital bills cost almost Php 900,000 = $23,000 and his doctors’ fees cost almost Php 300,000 = $7,500 . We couldn’t afford the hospital bills as we aren’t rich and we used our savings for my father’s medicines then. I am here because I need to help my mother pay the bills and we have pawned our land and house already. The land title that we had is still in NKTI they will give it back to us if we settle the bills soon. If you have spare change with you, please help me and my family.
