Photos from the vet clinic to follow- on Easter Day yesterday night a street cat was run over by someone and left to die outside La Mer restaurant in Limassol. People passed him by and did nothing...He managed to drag himself away from the road during the night and spent the night slowly dying from his internal injuries. At 9 on the morning he was found in a pool of blood with shattered hips...Animal lovers managed to get the cat to the vet Michalis Pelikanos in Episkopi where they were told that the blood built up in cat’s pelvis after the accident and if the cat survives the next 3 days on the strongest painkillers in the clinic, he will need one or two operations to fix his shattered pelvis and hips. The vet estimates the cost to be between 400-600 euros. We are raising money to make sure that we can proceed with the treatment when the cat is strong enough to survive the operation. The vet clinic can be contacted for verification purposes.
At the moment the cat is left at the clinic as he lost a lot of blood and was severely dehydrated and in a lot of pain.
I volunteer at William’s Safe Shelter House in Pareklissia, so rest assured that your money will be spent on saving this cat’s life. In the unfortunate event of him dying at the clinic, the money will go towards the clinic and the animal shelter- those who donated will be updated on the final outcome. Thank you for all your help!
