Two young girls with a maddening passion for literature and blinding love for the stage got together to bring Tennesee William's A Street Car Named Desire, to life on a Pakistani stage. Little did they know that even though the name of their company, Drama Queen Productions would bring some ooh's and Aaah's from the people but investing money into their dream became an amusing joke. After days and nights of hard work, we managed to put together a team of more than 30 people, acting, designing sets and interning, who believed in our dream of bringing Mr. Williams writing to a Pakistani Stage, where theater has become a hub of just laughs and slapstick humor. Now here we are, against all odds, from being laughed at for being young girls staging a serious play, to being harassed at offices where we went to seek sponsorships. With only less than 2 weeks before our first public performance with no money to put together the set. With all doors slammed shut in our faces we open towards you, our global family of the internet. Join us and help us in bringing our hard work and passion to life, help us resurrect the words of Mr. Wiliams to an audience that needs to reminded that entertainment is beyond cheap slapstick humor and just a few laughs that you forget before you exit the theater. Theater is a journey and a mirror into societies, and we must progress in terms of content. By donating to our campaign you will be helping theater in Pakistan transcend into new boundaries where people realize the importance of looking in to ones own soul.
