A Sister’s Love for her Brother: An appeal of Hope and Help…

It is very difficult time for me and my family. The past month has been tough as we go through a roller coaster of emotions. It all started with my mom prodding my brother, Anthony, to have his consistent headaches check. What started out as an innocent visit to the doctor ended to be an unexpected nightmare.

A tumor, Meningioma, is found on my brother's brain measuring 4.2 x 4 x 5.1 cm. The tumor though benign (praise and thank God!) severely compresses his brain. It's effect is now manifested in my brother;s daily routine - imbalance, blurry vision, and deafness. He is also found with obstructive hydrocephalus - which when left untreated for long - may lead to brain damage and other more dangerous and life threatening complications. Given these conditions, the doctors are recommending urgent removal of the tumor through Craniotomy.

While we remain steadfast and hopeful, the reality of the surgery struck us with paralyzing fear. The cost of the procedure is too high for us financially and yet too critical for my brother. We have made it through this far with all the consultations and tests but our resources is sadly insufficient.

It is not a custom in my family to share very personal matters to many. But in this time of need, we have decided to put all modesty aside - as my brother's life is more important than anything. Prayers, thoughts and well wishes are the most powerful weapon and if you can extend more, we are and will always be grateful and indebted.

Thank you for your support. My brother is doing well as can be expected given his situation. We try to make everything positive for him, removing all unnecessary worries, as we try to prepare him to his impending surgery. Our family is being tested - physically and emotionally. But our faith keeps us string and positive, with you as our greatest blessing from God!

We believe that in God's Grace and Divine Providence, my brother, Anthony, will get through this and soon return to a normal and healthy life.
