A Second Chance

Crystal Lewis is a 27 year old disabled veteran struggling with sever stage three depression, ptsd and anxiety disorder. She is a mother of two and wife to a husband currently suffering from multiple sever gastric disorders which prevent him from working a stable job and supporting the family. They have been faced with many financial hardships the most recent being an unexpected cut in crystals disability benefits that being the families main source of income at this time. This latest blow to the families finances has left them behind on rent and default on many bills. Which may result in shut off and possibly eviction if not remedied.

  WHAT STEPS HAVE THEY TAKEN?  Crystal and her husband have started taking steps to correct their situation in the following ways: Charles (crystals husband) has taken an active role in seeing that he seeks out the best options for health care in order to get the treatment he needs so he can work to support the family. Yet with no medical insurance and financial hardship ensueing he is unable to cover the cost of the most important procedures he needs done. Crystal was active in mental illness recovery programs through the VA but made little progress and so sought out holistic ways to deal with her mental illnesses. Things such as group meditation classes, yoga classes and acupuncture sessions. She was making great strides until the family income became restricted and she could no longer participate.  

HOW WILL THE MONEY BE USED The family is seeking donations that will be used to get Charles access to the treatments he needs in order to assume the position of provider again. It will also be used to pay for the classes and sessions needed for crystal to continue on her path to full mental recovery. To pay bills up to date and take care of other essential needs of the family. And last to pay for holistic practitioner courses for crystal to become certified in the same healing modalities that have helped her so much that will also help her get back into the working world after recovery and to help create an even stronger financial foundation for her family. Crystal and Charles are both aware of their responsibilities to themselves and their family and ONLY seek help to jumpstart their goals and get them on their way to living a healthier and more stress free life together.
