4 years ago I started to notice that my dad was having an increasingly difficult time recalling words. A year ago he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. My best friend, Vixy, has Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic and degenerative disease that damages the lungs and digestive system. Seeing how these diseases have impacted their lives and the lives of the people that love them has been challenging, exhausting, and often inspiring. When I graduated from Vassar College in May, I decided to join a bike trip from San Francisco to Virginia Beach with the goal of raising $1 for every mile I biked, ultimately splitting the proceeds between two organizations: The Alzheimer's Association and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I'm currently in Springfield, Missouri, with just over 1000 miles left to bike, and though I've met many generous stangers along the way, I am still short of my $3,750 goal. If you have any inclination to give, please don't hesitate. Any size donation is appreciated, and because I am self-funding this trip 100% of any donations will go to the organizations listed above. Many many thanks!
