The Megacentre is a community project in Sheffield UK. The Megacentre is currently for sale and we would like to purchase the Megacentre to build on the existing community facilities and business that has been built up by the current owners over a 15 year period. Our plan is to use the facilities for local people, focusing initially on young people, homeless people and elderly people. For the young people, we will hold youth clubs, homework clubs, teach cooking skills and arrange days out and holidays for disadvantaged childen. For homeless people, we will offer sign posting services as well as food collection banks, help with housing services and job training skills. For the elderly, we will organise social events such as days out, dinner and dance and offer be-friending services. This is a great opportunity for all of Sheffield's residents and it will bring the community together. The money raised will be used towards purchasing the Megacentre and helping the community make this a reality.
