A Professor needs help to continue her passion in teaching…

I created this fundraising campaign because we need financial help so that my loving partner, Aimee Banega, can have her operation for her thyroid problem. Aimee is a picture of confidence, kindness and compassion specially to her students. She is a professor and teaching is her passion. That requires her to have a voice so that she can continue to mold and build future professionals.

Last August 2019, she had an ultrasound because of series of complaints about severe pain in her neck. We went to see an ENT doctor and the ultrasound result showed that she has a Diffuse Parenchymal Thyroid Disease with multiple masses and nodules on both of her left and right thyroid. She then underwent an ultrasound guided biopsy. Though there are no malignant cells found in the biopsy result, the doctor advised that the colloid nodules should be removed as it may grow even bigger and it could possibly convert into cancerous cells.

I am reaching out to everyone now, our relatives, friends and Aimee's colleagues because her situation is very time sensitive. She needs to undergo the operation before there could be any worse medical condition she could have. I am knocking on your kind hearts now; of any amount you may be willing to share for her operation, that will be really appreciated. As strong as she is, she knows she can get through this and she is very positive that she'll be able to teach as long as she can once the operation is done. She is very compassionate to her students, but right now, it frustrates her being unable to talk much because her thyroid problem also affects her ability to talk for a long time.
