A Pocket of Air for Mother Earth

A Pocket of Air for Mother Earth is an initiative aimed at cleaning up the city where l live. The problem of waste is negatively affecting the surroundings and health of our environment due to millions of tons of indiscriminately disposed waste. I intend to use my expertise in waste management to set up an engineered landfill to ensure no hazardous waste ends up in the open. Inspite of the law, many people lack the means to engage in safe methods of waste disposal, forcing them to throw or burn the waste in undesignated places. Burning is common and it pollutes the air through emission of greenhouse gases which poisons the atmosphere, leading to climate change. Through 'A Pocket of Air for Mother Earth', l hope to help clean up my city and curtail the causes of global warming due to illegal burning of waste. The initiative will also include recycling and composting to add value to waste and use it as a resource.
