a Philippine Podcast for Interesting Discourse

Greetings everyone,

We're Anthony and Milfred, and we believe in the power of listening.

We started this campaign hoping to look for like-minded individuals who, like us, are getting frustrated from not having more than enough meaningful content coming from The Philippines. As Filipinos are well known in the fields of Science (see young Filipinos who competed and placed on ISEF's winners), Mathematics and Engineering, Philosophy and Sociology and other fields of endeavors too many to list here, why do a vast majority of Filipinos settle for content based on "funny memes", local entertainment updates, sensationalist news articles/videos etc. and highly-charged political contents?

Mind you, we are not an intellectual such as those listed above, but we value sound, rational thought much more than any ideology combined. The pursuit of Truth and all it would entail is a pursuit worth doing and creating.

Therefore, we ask for your help.

This campaign aims at funding a dream that we have in building a hybrid podcast (Audio with Video) platform with my good friend co-hosting, that aims to invite interesting people from all walks of life here in The Philippines. From closet intellectuals, through young, successful adults who thinks outside the box, through unappreciated, college professors whose voices should be heard, this podcast would be Unbiased, Unfiltered, Valuable.

Our High Level Objectives are:

1. Promote a platform for discourse on relevant subjects, culture and/or on socioeconomic topics that would allow listeners to have an “intellectual journey”with the show's creators through logical thought, healthy debates and clear lines of communication with the show's creators and the show's guests thereby promoting a knowledge-based, opinionated ecosystem valuing facts vs. false/fake information and noise that is detrimental to humanity in a larger picture.
2. To show that a locally-created podcast can have an impact on the world through logical thinking and clear discourse on topics at large.
3. To have fun by feeding of ones ideas, opinions and knowledge thereby creating an “intellect loop” that in theory, would create an almost-unlimited source of discussions.
4. To always be curious on other people's “life journey” and sharing it to the show's audience for their own benefit and consumption.
5. To promote a discussion platform on specific topics agreed upon by the show's creators beforehand that they seem beneficial to the shows' audience.

PLAN OF ACTION

The funds would go through funding requirements that we don't have so that we could produce our content on our own and would not need to acquire a professional team:

1.) 3 Recording Mics

2.) Microphone Booms, Pop Filters etc.

3.) Another Video Camera

4.) Overhead costs in acquiring guests per episode

These targeted funds will help us produce a 10-Episode, Weekly, 45 min-1hr podcastwhich will be held in Anthony's place. This podcast will first start with our introductory episode hopefully this end of February and would then continue by inviting interesting guests and sharing their life experiences from all walks of life.

Our goal is to create a continuous, loyal audience by giving them a well-produced, entertaining, and well thought-out interviews from people. We believe that there is value in listening to others' life experiences with all the good and the bad that that would entail.
