Hi everyone,

I have never done this before so don’t really know how to exactly do this, but this cause is so important and close to my heart and I would really appreciate if you please took a few minutes to read this story and watch the video above. Thank you so much in advance.

This is Erika’s story - an incredible, gorgeous and brave little girl who is loved, supported and admired by many and needs your help.

My school best friend Renata gave birth to Erika in June 2013. She was born slightly early but completely healthy. Her doctor had underestimated a premature birth and a few months later proceeded with the Hexa 6-in-1 vaccination that all babies receive. To the horror of Erika and her family, they found their daughter completely paralyzed - one of the worst fears that any parent can imagine.

In the last five years since then, her amazing family have been fighting tirelessly for their beloved daughter to fully recover and be able to live her precious life to the fullest as we all are fortunate of living.

Her day to day needs are very complex and include 24/7 care and support of her unmoving little body, endless exercises and professional neuropsychological treatments in a suit tailored specifically for her (as shown in the picture) worn for 3 hours a day for two weeks, all repeated several times a year at specialized clinics abroad such as ADELI.

Erika is mentally completely healthy and very smart. She loves being around children in her nursery but her physical disability and struggle to communicate doesn’t allow her to be fully involved. The other children have a lot of love for her and it’s amazing to see how they come up with creative and unique ways to involve her regardless of her disability. She feels their love and gets motivated to get better as she desires to move around just like them.

The GREAT NEWS is that very recently she’s finally started responding to the treatment and has now developed a small muscle and is able to slightly kick her legs and stand up when supported!

So she is now potentially on the way to a full recovery but as you can imagine the treatment is pretty costly (a two week therapy costs around £3.500,-) and she needs as many as she can as timing is everything now as she’s growing fast. The more treatments she can get in a short time whilst her body is developing, the higher the chances are that she will make a full recovery and be fully mobile and play with those children and her family she loves so much and lead a normal life.

She’s been able to afford the treatment only due to local sponsorship and financial support in the Czech Republic but unfortunately, it’s not enough and therefore I’d love now to extend a request for help from all of you wonderful people across the globe.

I am doing a 10k run in Regents Park, London, UK on Sunday 5th May 2019 in Erika’s honor to raise awareness and money to support her recovery. I can’t do more km due to my bad knee but I would risk it all if I could help her to finally fully recover. Also if anyone wants to run with me, please join me and two of my amazing friends who have already signed up too 😊.

And hopefully one day and soon Erika can do the run with us!

Erika, her family and myself would be entirely grateful for any financial contribution you can donate through this crowdfunding page.

If you can please share this story on social media and spread the word that would be forever appreciated. There is an option to do so within this crowdfunding page.
