A NEW WORLD FOR NIC

My family and I currently live in a small town house, which has served us well for a few years. But now our son's needs have changed. 

My son was born with a rare genetic disorder call Familial Dysautonomia. He had some other complications along with this disorder, which have left him developmentally disabled.

When we moved into this home, we had Nic's bedroom on the second floor, and turned our living room on the main floor into his playroom. But, as Nic got older, his ablilty to walk up and down the stairs everyday became much too difficult, and, as a result, we had to move his bed into the playroom so we could eliminate the stairs altogether.

This has worked well for us for the last 2 - 3 years, but, now that he is 18 yrs old, it's just not enough room.

And that room gets even smaller now that he has a aide that comes in each day to help take care of his daily needs.

All I want is to make his life a happy one.

I am asking for your help so I can do this for him.

My husband works very hard for what we have, but there are times we just fall behind.  I am not able to work because of the care our son requires.

Because of the downturn in the economy, we have fallen into some debt and are now underwater on this house, we just need some help to get ahead again.
