Let’s bring literature to our communities in a novel way!

This is an opportunity to bring literature to unexpected places in South Africa.

A French company has created a short story vending machine, that via a dispensing kiosk unit, delivers stories across a variety of genre's, for an engaging 1 minute, 3 minute or 5 minute read.

A simple press of a button is all it takes, whereby users can select their story and within seconds, have it printed on an eco-friendly, modern-day papyrus roll.

Think energy-saving (small power usage), eco-friendly (biodegradable ink and paper), attractive (small and stylish), accessible (portable enough to be taken to and placed in different locations) and stories in your pocket (ever-creasing database of new global stories and poems).

Highly attractive and novel, right? But the kicker is yet to come! This kiosk creates a publishing interface for aspiring writers, in any language, to potentially have their work published and distributed to a global audience. Successful authors on the platform earn royalties when their work is accessed.

Prerna Advisory has been appointed an Ambassador of the product for South Africa (SA). The opportunities that this device presents is incredible to our country (SA), where there is an urgent need to increase literacy across the board, children and adults, in our 11 official and many other unofficial languages. Furthermore, to encourage talented writers to submit and potentially have their material published in different languages, creates a new pool of creatives and potentially employment opportunities. Due to the nature of the stories, they can be passed around once read so the multiplier effect to learning, development, and creativity is great.

The plan is to attract endorsement and financial support from some of the largest institutions (financial, industrial, public etc.) in South Africa to be able to purchase and roll out these units as part of their CSI programmes into our communities, first prize being those communities that need these most. However, we require initial funding to be able to bring a demo unit to South Africa, that can then be introduced and road-showed to create the awareness and showcase the novelty and practicalities of the product.

The funding amount covers the cost of the unit, along with materials needed for it to function, and shipping/handling/customs costs.
