Hello, my name is Moon and I am a brave little kitty currently fighting for my life.
I was adopted in October (2020) by my mum Beatrice, and we are incredibly happy together... we are a family.
Just a few weeks ago my mum noticed there was something wrong with me. My eyes shifted from a bright yellow colour to a red shaded brown, my pupils changed shape unexpectedly, and shortly after that, I had some neurological episodes and could not walk properly. This made my mom worried about my health and she quickly took me to a doctor.
Last Tuesday the lab results confirmed that I am affected by Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) which is a painful disease caused by a mutation of the feline coronavirus that until two years ago was fatal. The doctor said I had one month to live.
But my mum loves me very much and she did not give up on me. She decided to go for the only solution left, a new drug called GS441524 that helped many other cats with FIP around the world.
For the next three months, I will have to be injected every day with this rare and extremely expensive medicine. It is going to be a long and hard journey, but after this mum promised me, I will be all right.
If you are a friend that wants to help or even a stranger with a good heart, please donate to this cause, help me get better and spend many more years together with my family.
Even the equivalent of a cup of coffee can make a difference, it can make me have a second chance to live.
Breakdown of expenses:
-We have already spent €500+ on antibiotics, anti-inflammatory injections, and lab tests.
-The expected cost of treatment is €2500+ (Freecat FIP treatment)
-The expected cost of future lab tests and daily injections €600+
We can afford to give this treatment to our little boy for now and spend all we have to make sure he stays alive but will not be able to sustain this expenditure after a while. Therefore, we are asking for your help and would be forever in your debt if you could donate anything you can.
