Like most people, I've had my share of challenges in life...being raised by a single parent and the inevitable financial struggles that come along with it. When I completed my studies, I found a job and started contributing to household expenses including that of my grandmother and disabled aunt who lived with us too.
Later on in life I had to pick myself up and essentially start over after a rough divorce.
I was however faced with my greatest challenge yet in 2018. I spent most of that year in poor health and was treated for a flus, colds and bronchitis a few times that year but never fully recovering so I found myself being wheeled into an emergency room at the end of 2018. After 5 days of being poked and prodded at in hospital, it was discovered that TB had been ravaging my lungs and I had made a narrow escape from surgery. While one lung was showing signs of holes and fluid, the other had started growing little nodules. It was a long and trying road to recovery through 2019. My medical bills piled up, leaving me in debt for most of last year.
Almost 2 weeks in hospital and in isolation gave me a lot of time to consider what I would rather do with my life. I was raised to help people even at times when it seemed impossible so it filled me with joy being able to volunteer my time to worthy causes and donating money to people in need who crossed my path. Being the sole breadwinner at home and my mothers primary caretaker leaves me with inadequate funds to do the things I would really love to do, for myself. I need an epic adventure and would love to take a month off work to travel and explore different cultures and places. I'm asking for your help. Please assist me in making this next chapter of my life, an extraordinary one.
