Campaign Story
Project Purpose: We wanna create a highly artistic short movie. This movie promises to shock the audience and make them more sensitive to live this life more peaceful and wiser.
SYNOPSİS
A 40-year-old agricultural engineer, Ilyas, who given her daughter's parental right to his new divorced wife, abandoned the city he lives and moves to a calm village. Ilyas, who avoided establishing close relations with the people of the village with his introverted and influential personality, will be brutally murdered by a few young men of the village, representing the will of the people of the village, unfairly resulting in a misunderstanding.
DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
An antihumanist film… It tells, even a warm village how to turn into a monster if circumstances arise. The metaphor of "there is a cute village out there" that has a sympathetic place in the mind of the audience... The audience becomes identifiable with the village. The village makes a spectator disappointment to the audience. The audience who conscientious questioned, "Is human bad at the core?"
Outward appearance is dangerous. Our warm-looking village proves it. Audience has whispered of distrust… An event that comes to the village and the main character, not for any purpose, is presented in a realistic way and it is solved.
The corruption of socialization… Let's get start from the origin of the state. The state is formed with the people who give the commitment that “I will not attack anyone. I will not demage anyone's property.” The main character who came to the state, couldn’t give the same confidence to the citizens. I think that if human consciousness encounters absolute solitude, it will have a terrible experience (although it is near to impossible in our normal lives). We are satisfied our superego with the illusion we have in our lives that we are pursuing in the comfort of ourselves, just like the fly flock chasing the smell of a candy and taking the candy together with our other fly friends. The Nazis were a fly flock. Isis is a fly flock. So is “the village.” Loneliness phobia can push people out of morality. The person is becoming a militant of the community to which it belongs. So it is getting a double-sided comfort: 1-I’m not alone. 2-The community thinks of my place. It even thinks better.
An example of a betrayed community psychology… The lead character’s shout 'A Naşkvit' (leave a rest) remains fruitless. The film takes up the hatchet to superficiality and ignorance aim to rethink about the judgments, spectacular values and the taboos.
I am approaching “A Naşkvit” with a cinematic language which I aim to be as extreme as possible of any 'continent's or any master's style and firstly to like myself.
