Campaign Story
In 2019, Jam and El decided to tie the knot and recreate the family that they only know in their dreams.
The lockdown baby.
It was months after the lockdown was announced when the couple knew that Jam was expecting. Though the couple felt really excited about the great news, both of them also knew how big of a challenge it was becoming pregnant in times of the pandemic.
On the 26th of February 2021 while Jam was already in the labor room getting ready for that moment, it was found out by the doctor that her little girl had a cord prolapse. A cord prolapse is when an unborn baby's umbilical cord slips through the cervix and into the vagina after a mother's water breaks and before the baby descends into the birth canal. This is considered a medical emergency as each time the cord is compressed between the baby's head and the cervix, the blood and oxygen supply are cut off. The doctor had to perform emergency Cesarean Section to save the baby.
The baby was out after an hour of struggle, she was all pale and blue, with heavy meconium stain (a newborn's first poop) and had no signs of life. The medical team was able to revive the little one as she battled for her life but due to lack of oxygen for almost an hour, she developed hypoxia which resulted to several episodes of seizures because of the swelling in some parts of her brain. Jam is already now out from the hospital but is still trying to recover from the pain and trauma that she experienced from her major surgery.
As of writing, Baby Akhira Audi is still under observation at the NICU of Madonna and Child Hospital. Her condition is already getting better but the Doctors could not guarantee as to how long she will be staying there. Both El and Jam already exhausted all means to raise funds for Baby Audi. This roller coaster of events has already caused so much for this young couple and even post partum depression for Jam who, aside from healing from her operation, is also struggling with providing enough milk supply for the baby.
Let’s give El and Jam the opportunity to have a real family that they can call their own.
Let us all let Jam have her moment to finally have her first touch with Baby Audi. To express your love and send your donation for Baby Audi’s medical bill, kindly deposit them using these bank details.
