A Monument for You. Yes, a School Monument to Honor You.

Be part of a building built to honor you as a prominent person. This is a unique opportunity for you to be commemorated while you live—and many years after—for creating a functional monument that would possibly positively impact millions of people in need in multiple generations.

The monument in question is a cutting-edge, blended learning high school that will integrate innovative technology and best-in-class education strategies to provide each student with a personalized learning plan and a direct pathway to college and career.

In simpler words, kindly support the building of a high school. To the community and students, the building will be an innovative school—to you, it will be a special monument to honor your kindness and service to humanity.

Regardless of how much you contribute, you will be part of the school monument. You can be featured in the school monument as an individual or a corporate.

Before I explain how this will be YOUR monument, here is my motivation in a few words:

About 18 years ago, I received an offer letter to a renowned full boarding high school. The offer was given on merit having performed exemplary in the primary school national examinations. All there was in the family in terms of money was about $9. This was 100 times less than what I needed to join the school. I still needed to go to school, though. I got admitted to a cheaper, walking-distance high school that sympathized with my situation and accepted a school fee of $5 with a pledge to top up with $5 in the following week. Due to my exceptional performance despite being admitted late, two of my teachers paid my fees and upkeep as I continued to walk 7 miles to school daily for 4 years. I passed to university and I have since attained a bachelor’s and a master’s degree.

For the 18 years, my biggest dream has been to build a school to provide quality education—superior to what national schools offer, especially to those who deserve to join such schools, but are unable to, due to financial limitations. I have spent 14 of these years tutoring students while studying and long after university. Using the power of the internet, I have spent nine (9) of these years tutoring thousands of English-speaking learners in all continents from high school to university.

I have both management and teaching experience to put up a competent team to run the school and monument.

My dream to build a school has been consistent. I have a burning desire to give back to society in a better way. I have acquired a pair of parcels of land on which to build a boarding school and produce food for the students and staffs. I want students who are truly hungry for education to have a better experience learning and to have the knowledge and exposure to create even a bigger impact in their future.

I realize, however, there is power in you joining hands with me to make this dream a reality. It will not just be a reality for me, but for thousands of learners over the years. It will not only be a reality to others, but an honor to you. Yes, it will be your monument.

The names of each backer of this project—including yours—will be inscribed onto the various parts of the building and possessions with a note that they contributed to the existence of the school. These places will include door plates, furniture, select walls, textbook covers, exercise book covers, flower pots, select concrete moldings, etc. For the backers who will give their profile writeups, they will be periodically printed onto covers of exercise books provided by the school. The idea behind this is create a monument to nurture, motivate, and remind learners a responsibility to make other people’s lives better awaits them. There is no better blessing to you than this!

If interested, you will also be given opportunities to occasionally interact with and volunteer at the school physically or remotely. You would be a role model, which would change someone’s fortune and future forever. In other words, besides building a functional monument honoring your contribution to cutting-edge, blended learning, you will have a continued chance to interact with and positively influence students benefitting from your generosity.

The first phase of this project will comprise the building of the following, which, if you can, can fund fully and thence dedicated to you. For instance, if you fully fund one classroom of the monument, there will be a door plate honoring you as the sole donor of the room.

The monument will be built 12 miles east of Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, and about the same distance from the regional and country’s biggest international airport. The location falls within some of the most improvised and poor city communities, commonly denoted as Eastlands. This monument will surely keep some of the country’s brightest from drug abuse, crime, and illicit trade.

According to Ministry of Education, Science and Technology’s press release on December 3, 2018, a total of 1,032,334 million students sat for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) certificate in 2018. KCPE is the final exam after 8 years of primary school. This number is expected to rise in the coming years against the government’s stretched resources to build more schools. The press presented that 31,337 of these students would be enrolled to National Schools cluster; 128,838 to extra-county schools; 148,215 to county schools; and 722,318 to subcounty schools. However, reports from primary school principals across the country indicate that these number are exaggerated, and that up to a third of those admitted do not make it to the schools due to lack of fees. A such, there is need for more schools that offer quality and affordable high school education to cater for the masses.
