Maite Cordova Martínez is a sweet 3 year old girl, from the rural town of Pirque in Chile. She was diagnosed with a Wilms tumour, a type of renal cancer, in 2015. She underwent two surgeries and chemotherapy, but the tumour came back last month in the cavity where her kidney used to be. Her mother was told that there are no further treatment options for her in Chile's public system. Luckily Dr. Barriga, a renowned oncologyst at UC Christus, a private hospital, assessed her case and found her to be a suitable candidate for a combined treatment of stem cell transplant and high dose chemotherapy. It is Maite's last hope.
The family must pay for this treatment in full, and they don't have the means to do it. We need to raise 50% of the money by April 20th in order for her to start treatment. The community has joined to help Maite by organising events in her benefit in the past, but the amount of money that needs to be raised and the urgency of her case makes us ask for everyone's help.
We don't want that the fact of not having money takes away this little girl's last chance to live. She deserves an opportunity. We only need 8000 people who can contribute with U$10 to get her the treatment she needs. Please help her.
If you live in Chile or have a Bank account in Chile you can contribute directly to her mother's account.
