Good day!

I didn’t expect that this will happen to me. I was diagnosed with ACUTE MYELOGENOUS LEUKEMIA on May 3, 2017. Everything seems to be normal. Few days before my vacation to Philippines. I noticed some bruises (Hematoma) in my arms. Upon reaching Manila I showed it to my sister. The following day she decided to take my blood samples and have it checked. The results was very alarming my CBC is below the normal range my sister is so worried. She decided to have my blood checked again with different hospital. Still the result was the same. This time we decided to see a Hematologist. The doctor decided for more blood test to be done, including Xray and Ultrasound. She also asked me to undergo Bone Marrow Biopsy and Aspiration. During this procedure I can tolerate the pain but once the anesthesia has gone away, it was really painful. Before leaving the hospital I suddenly I felt dizzy. My doctor told me that my RBC was low and blood transfusion was recommended. I wasn’t allowed to travel and go back to work, she said that it is very risky.

After discussing the treatment with us she informed that I should have the chemo as soon as possible. On May 8, 2017 I was admitted for the chemo. The drugs was too costly especially Idarubicin. I couldn’t start with the chemo since my RBC and Platelet count was low. I had blood transfusion of 2units pack RCB and 3units Platelets Apheresis and 2unit Platelet con. We struggled a lot since I am AB+ ,a very difficult blood type to find. During the course of chemo I developed fever, my White Blood Cell went down so I was injected with GCSF (Filgrastim) a total of 12 vials again this is too costly. I was still suffering from fever and with the help of an Infectious Disease Doctor , Xray revealed that I developed Pneumonia. My throat was swollen and it’s bleeding. I couldn’t eat solid food due to pain. I had more transfusion. I was admitted for 28 days.

June 27, 2017 I was admitted for my second chemo everything went well. During my follow up check up on July 4, 2017 with my Hematologist. This time my RBC and Platelet were low. Had my transfusion again both RBC and Platelets Apherisis. My attending physician strongly recommend to have the BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT which is too costly, our family cannot afford the amount of 3Million pesos.

We also spent a lot of money for my previous hospitalization.

After my second chemo my CBC is not improving. I had my bone marrow aspiration again on August 10, 2017. The result showed that my Leukemia had relapsed or reoccured on August 14, 2017. I was so disappointed. My doctor told me to have more chemo and she strongly recommend BONE MARROW TRANSPLAT which cost 3 Million . I am in full spirit and determined to win this battle. I asked the LORD to give me strength and hope.

Currently I am confined at VRP Medical Center for my third chemo and blood transfusion.I would like to ask for your support and prayer. I am knocking at your generous heart for the assistance for me to be able to undergo Bone Marrow Transplant, which my family can not afford.

I would be very grateful for any help to assist me in my fight against this dreaded disease.

Please give me another chance to live.
