A Love for Mama

Hi everyone! This account was set up to help out our amazing accounting officer, Ms. Alma.

Ms. Alma was first diagnosed with Stage 1 Breast Cancer in 2010. Consequently, she was pregnant. She thus went and got the appropriate chemo treatments, plus a mastectomy to her right breast, straight away. The cancer fortunately went into remission.

In 2011 she gave birth, with no complications, cancer free, to a healthy baby girl. Julia is now 7 years old.

One day in 2016, as she and her husband were cleaning out and setting up their new home, while doing some heavy lifting, she felt pain in her right arm and suddenly found she could no longer move it. She then went and got her arm checked out. Her x-ray results showed that there was an abnormality not in her arm, but in her abdominal area. She was advised to undergo a CT Scan.

As per the CT Scan, it was found that her prior cancer, the one that was supposedly in remission, had not only come back, but had metastecized into her liver.

To address this, one of the treatments given to her was oral chemo. Said treatment ended about a month ago, which was the last time she met up with her Oncologist, who tells her that she did not respond to the treatment, meaning she has to undergo regular chemotherapy, in sessions through an IV--a more costly approach.

This new set of chemo treatments has not yet started. Ms Alma worries that if she ends up confined, no one will watch Julia, since her dad has to work everyday. She also worries deeply about the expense that, to be truthful, they can't afford.

And that's why we need your help. Please help us keep Ms. Alma longer. Most importantly, please help Julia. She would really like to see her mama grow old, and for her mama to watch her grow up.
