A Little Something for Baby Athena

Jingle and I have been married and was happily anticipating the birth of our first born.

I am 34 yrs old and my wife is 38 yrs old.

We are a young couple, got married and hoped to start a small family with very simple means from my modest income.

We are both hardworking and have been trying to save in anticipation of the birth of our first born. We were confident we had saved more than enough for this very special day in our lives and everything will go smoothly.

We had the regular check-ups and was being very good patients, we were even very happy to know that there wasn’t going to be any complication with the delivery.

Until one day, my wife complained of having terrible headache and breathing problems. I brought her to the nearest hospital hoping it was just a normal stage of her pregnancy but was suddenly told that Jingle had pre-eclampsia, it was putting her and the baby at risk and they had to operate.

Baby Athena Mae Pagaduan was born on July 12, 2018 at 29 weeks. She's been admitted to the hospital's NICU for 17 days now due to complications of premature birth. Baby Athena was born weighing only 945 grams diagnosed with clinical sepsis and surfactant deficiency which makes it difficult for her to breathe but continues to fight for her life.

We need help. We need support from people who would like to give this small family of ours a chance to make it. We need help to pay for Athena's hospital bills to get her through until she is strong enough to go home.

I have been working hard all my life and so have my wife, but as anyone knows how much medical expenses can be,our income will never be enough.

I cannot imagine losing my first born and perhaps she will be our one and only now, because both my wife and I didn’t have the money for her to live.
