On Mother's Day, May 13, I felt extreme epogastric pain. We quickly went to the ER here in Cavite but they just profiled my pain as just hyperacidity. We were given meds and were sent home. But I knew the pain was different. Thank God for His wisdom, my husband, Derek, decided that we just drive to Manila to get a second opinion. So we packed our things, tagged our 3 yo, our 3 month old daughters and my mama along.
We went directly to the ER of The Medical City and I explained my symptoms. Dr. Luna immediately ordered for a series of blood tests and an upper abdomen ultrasound. Tests shows that my liver enzyme levels were wildly high. Normal reference is 0-55 umg/ml. Mine was at 1586 umg/ml. The ultrasound also shows inflammation of the gallbladder with gallstones.
I was admitted right away and they scheduled an endoscopy procedure to see whats is causing the gallbladder to swell and to see if there were gallstones blocking the duct.
And once my liver enzyme levels were stable, they will proceed with surgery to permanently remove my gallbladder.
