To everyone who helped my family through prayers, donations, and also for those who bought caps, big thanks to all of you, my uncle passed away yesterday morning. He is in the hands of our Lord Almighty God where the real Joy is. It has been a tough year for him but he battled very well. He is so brave facing challenges everyday. We are so blessed that we had a father that is so very responsible, caring, and a very loving husband as well. Again thank you. 🙏🏼
“I’ve chosen to work as an OFW for a long time, away from my family to be a good provider... Planned to be home as soon as my youngest graduates from college. But, an unfortunate event has turned my world upside down... I’m praying (together with my family) for healing and miracle, to live longer and spend more time with my family." - Jon
Brief background: Tito Jon is married to Tita Lisa and has two children, Mez and Alyssa. He worked in Singapore as a technical sales manager. He is a very good provider and a very loving father and husband.
One day, he woke up, feeling very feverish, thought it was a bad case of flu so he shrugged it off for 3 weeks until my aunt convinced him to go to the hospital and have himself checked. He went to a clinic but was referred to the National University Hospital in Singapore. He was under close monitoring for 2 weeks until the final diagnosis was given on June 2017: ACUTE MYELOGENOUS LEUKEMIA (AML). AML is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells, characterized by the rapid growth of abnormal cells that build up in the bone marrow and blood and interfere with normal blood cells.
He was continuously and closely being monitored until he got approved to transfer here in the Philippines. He started his chemotherapy session (as advised by his doctor) and his cancer went into relapse after his fourth session.
Then, on March 27, 2018, I was told by Tita Beng, his wife, that his cancer is back. He, then, was advised to undergo a bone marrow transplant to completely cure his cancer.
My uncle is a fighter and was planning to see alternative doctors (i.e. herbal) for his cancer. We’re praying for his recovery, much as his healing. It’s just so painful hearing his cry due to the side effects of chemo.
While in Singapore, the company, he was working with took care of the medical expenses. Now that he is back here in the Philippines, the mounting bills of medicines and chemotherapy sessions is now depleting whatever funds he has at this moment.
I am continuously knocking on your hearts for a little help for my uncle. He had worked so hard, away from his family and wanted to live a little bit longer to spend the rest of his remaining days with them. But this unfortunate event happened. Please help him reach his dream and make it into reality.
