I am Christopher Llynard D. Ortiz, a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry graduate from the University of the Philippines. This August 31 to September 1, 2017, it is my honor to be invited to attend the 4th EFMC Young Medicinal Chemist Symposium (EFMC-YMCS 2017) at the University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria. As a young chemist, this event is important not only for the growth of my knowledge in Medicinal chemistry but to enable myself to be an advocate of health that will benefit my country, the Philippines. In addition, as part of the 2030 Youth Force of the United Nations on the Sustainable Development Goals here in the Philippines, it is my responsibility to take part of this event in order for us, my countrymen, to achieve resiliency and sustainability.
One of the types of chemical bond discussed during our general chemistry class is covalent bonding which is the sharing of electron pairs between atoms. In the same way to us people, we share ourselves to each to other to achieve our common goal. By this, I am asking your support to make this dream come true by helping me in raising funds for my airfare and accommodation costs, to start a step towards a thousand mile journey towards a brighter future for all of us. I will be forever grateful for your kindness and support.
