Owning a home is everyone's dream. But building one can be very challenging for many, especially for young families like my own due to a host of factor that may stand in the path for achieving such prowess.
At the age of 2, I got infected with a polio virus which left me permanently disabled. Thanks to my resilient and heroic mother, my disability did not imply being left behind like was and still is the fate of many children in my condition them and now. She sent me to school, and now, at 44, I am a university instructor and the head of a family of six members: my wife, my mother, and 3 children (a 12-year-old boy, and his two little sisters aged 8 and 6). But life isn't easy: As a family, we live on a monthly salary of about $560.00USD which, after paying all the bills, is barely enough to last through the next paycheck.
In order to cut costs with renting our own apartment, we currently live at my mother's house, but there isn't enough room for all of us. As a matter of fact, our 3 children share the same bedroom despite the fact that their big brother is grown up enough to require his own space. Three years ago, we used our savings to buy a plot where we plan to build our future home, but until now we haven't been able to start the project due to lack of financial resources.
If things don't change, my hope of being able to build a home we can call our own is dwindling by the day since the cost of life keeps going up and up but can't say the same for our income let alone the fact that I am the only bread winner and supporter of the family.
Please support my campain and help me realize my dream of being able to shelter my beloved family. Please help me put a big smile on each of them.
