Campaign Story
Disabled Renter Unfairly Treated By Landlord Needs Heater
Sometimes companies forget that their tenants are real people. Unfortunately, one of my best friends lives in a building where the landlords pay the heat bills, so they can shut it off whenever they choose, with no regard for how cold it is outside.
Once the heat is shut off, as it is now, the tenants, including my friend Charla, are not allowed to use their ovens to heat their unit, as that is grounds for eviction. Some have tried taking the company to court, but sadly, they lost. Like me, Charla has cerebral palsy and her muscles do not tolerate cold well at all. Lack of heat means increased pain and reduced mobility.
But the problem has a solution! Tenants are allowed to have electric heaters! This has been a problem for years and I have decided to fundraise to get a heater before I have to worry that I will end up with a friend-sicle.
Duraflame Stove Heater $118.00
Approximately 2 Year Warranty $22.00 Approximately
Delivery $50.00 Approximately due to the weight
GoGetFunding Fees 13.68 based on cost estimate
Leaving a total of: 203.68 ...but any amount you can spare would be very much appreciated and so helpful. Thank you! If you have questions, feel free to contact me. My name is Josie and I can be reached at [email protected]

Good luck in your fund-raising efforts - and I suggest talking to some of the health equipment providers to see if you can get a discount or at least set up a payment plan that allows you to have the unit right away. I also suggest an infrared unit as they cost less on the electric bill and are generally safer to use. All the best!
I hope this helps!
