About Lily

Lily May is 8 years old. We live in Dublin, Ireland and are a family of 4. David (dad), Lorna (mum), Lily (8 yrs) and Rosie (7 yrs). We are raising money for Lily's to be able to get an Autism Assistance Dog and a vehicle that is large enough for our family and a pup!

About Lily’s Autism

Lily has been on the waiting for an Autistm Assistance Dog for years now and we need to fundraise to cover the cost of the dog's training. Lily's autism isn't a disease or an affliction, but it will stay with her her life long and we are learning how to cope and how to grow up in her world.. how to make life a joy and a success for Lily and for us all. This special dog for Lily will be trained to keep her safe - so she can have the freedom she needs without so much danger.

Lily has non-verbal learning disorder. She processes dangers and emotions a little differently to you and I. In fact, she loves everyone and sees the world as a place of magic, filled with excitement and love... which is a gift that many of us have never had. As you can see from the photos - she's a lovely little girl who enjoys school, parties, church and just about everything in life!

However, at times Lily will run away from us in a crowd or jump out of a window or even wander away from home to go exploring! She has wondered off with strangers before as well as bolting into traffic.. we have had some accidents and incidents but thanks be to God we haven’t had any serious accidents.. A special dog will help us enormously. Lily has many wonderful gifts to offer this world but unfortunately, she needs a little more help with some things that the rest of us fine easy. We are doing our best to give her the help she needs.. and we are asking for some help with that now as well.

How an Autism Assist Dog can help

The dog is a constant companion, a friend that doesn't mind her whispering about fairies all the time!! The dog will relieve her younger sister Rosie, who is her carer and worries about her so much that she will stay home instead of playing with her friends.. to keep Lily company. The dog will keep Lily safe when we are out and about - or visiting a friend who may have an upstairs window open! A special friend.. a safety net.. a most important member of the family.

WHY are we asking for money - and - WHAT will the money pay for?....
Our fundraising schedule looks like this:

(1)5,000 Euros to pay for the dog’s initial training with My Canine Companion

(2)10,000 Euros to pay for a second-hand car (that will fit us and a dog!)

(3)The last 5,000 Euros to complete the dog’s training

We are asking everyone and anyone we can to consider giving us a small hand if you have space in your budget. We completely understand the people who cannot help financially and we are grateful for prayers and well wishes as well J

We would be grateful to you for passing this around you friends and colleagues on social media - so we reach as many people as possible? It's not all about money - it's also about raising awareness of the amazing things that these animals do. The webpage to pass around is: xxxx and this donation page is: xxxxx

For those of you who would prefer to donate directly to the charity itself (My Canine Companion, Ireland), please do reference "Lily May PC" so that we can add your donation to our tally!! Please do email me to let me know what you have donated so that I can add it to the total and declare it with the charity.

Thank you so much for helping us to make this happen for our little girl. Please visit our website to see all the things we have planned to raise money for Lily’s pup.
