A Goddess for Every U.S. State

This is an example of my idea. This painting is my Goddess of Maine, I want to create something similar to this in theme for each U.S. State. One of the amazing things about this idea is the research that I have started to do with each piece. As I research each state there is a sense of pure education and closeness to places I have never even been. I have discussed Maine with locals that are from there and seen the look in there eyes as they talk about the state in which they were born and lived. I feel like that is with me when I paint these.

I need funding because I also own and run an Art Gallery. The funds, if you choose to help me, would allow myself some breathing room with the business so that I could focus more on my series of paintings. I am 26 years old and just opened this art gallery last year in 2011. So far the gallery is going, OK, but lets just say it is a crazy time to keep an art gallery open, no matter where you are. Unfortunately with art, it is the hard times when I feel art is most important. It can lift peoples spirits and remind them that there really is beauty in life, that things are not all bad. Here is another one of my pieces that I created last year that deals with exactly that point of view, the title is called, "You're Strange and You're Beautiful''.
