Who Are We?

My name is Peter, I am a specialist in corrective exercise therapy, IAAF youth performance coach and fitness instructor. My wife Janielle is a weight management specialist, Pilates instructor and kids fitness coach. We have two wonderful kids and as a family, we are passionate about health and fitness. Janielle and I started a small business called Streamline Fitness Centre in 2012. I worked as a personal fitness trainer and Corrective Exercise Therapist, and Janielle at the time worked as an accountant in the business before becoming certified as a trainer. Whilst building our business, we were able to help our family, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances get healthy and fit without having to spend a fortune on other higher priced treatments and fitness programs. Since then we improved our brand to Streamline Health & Wellness Group which consists of two companies, Streamline Fitness Centre Ltd based in Trinidad & Tobago and Streamline Online Fitness and Therapy LLC based in Missouri, United States. Our Passion

We have always gone over and above for our clients. For example, despite not having transport we still managed to help people as a door-to-door service. "People before profits" is our motto, so even though we were not making a profit, we loved what we did by helping people to get healthier. In 2018, I took up the opportunity to work on a cruise ship through Royal Caribbean International. It was a difficult decision to leave my family and to put what I loved doing here which is helping the community aside for 7 or 8 months at a time to take the job. Although it was difficult, the job on the cruise ship was enabling my family to move forward, so it turned out to be a blessing. We started saving money to be able to buy the equipment needed to restart our business and continue the work we are so passionate about. I missed my kids and my wife dearly, and they also missed me.

The Effect of Adversity

Sadly, in 2020 COVID-19 happened. The pandemic has been devastating to so many people for reasons like losing loved ones, depression, and financial troubles. Janielle and I could not have imagined how this would affect us personally. The pandemic not only put the both of us out of work for over a year now, but because of the closure of our country's border it also left me stuck at sea unable to re-enter my country for an additional 5 months without a salary. The cruise ship company has been extremely good to us, despite losing millions of dollars, they did their best to take care of its crew.

Unfortunately, Janielle and I struggled financially as a result and had to ration and use every cent of our entire savings to take care of our kids and meet expenses at home. When I was able to return home, I was elated to be reunited with my family. We have consistently tried to find ways to make money around the lockdown restrictions, this has been extremely hard because social distancing made only online training possible. We eventually signed up to work through fit4miiapp.com, an online fitness training platform. We are building our business online and in person to ensure that further lockdowns will not impact us so hard. A few of the country's lock down restrictions were lifted recently, so we have resumed our door-to-door visits to help who we can. This is so important to our community right now because the fitness levels of people have become lower due to all the restrictions.

We Need Your Help

We are not about to let adversity stop us from meeting the needs of our community, as we had intended to do before the pandemic halted our plans. We cannot save for the equipment now due to the financial issues caused by losing our jobs in the pandemic. So, we are kindly asking for your help to enable us to acquire all the equipment that we need to open our office and continue the work we believe God wants us to do.

Our target is low and achievable, it can take as little as 500 people contributing just $10 each towards this project, and that alone will assist us to help the people who desperately need our service. Below we have broken down the costs of all the equipment we need, and the expected overheads we will have to pay to get started. We have already received a commitment from St Benedicts College, who are willing to lend us a room to set up our service. Our community and environs need our expertise especially school athletes who already benefit from our generous services. With your generous contributions we can deliver so much more to the public especially the people who need it most. Our vision and mission remains’ paramount.
