A FUNDRAISER TO SAVE LOURDES’S LIFE

“Help Lourdes fight cancer."

“When I'm old and dying, I plan to look back on my life and say, "Well, I touched innocent souls.” That is what she always wanted, and she is currently struggling to fight her cancer to complete her mission.

I am Grace, and my lovely auntie is suffering from breast cancer back in Qatar.

THE PROBLEM

The focus of this campaign is to seek your prayers and financial support to help my sick auntie WIN OVER STAGE 4 BREAST CANCER that HAS METASTASIZED TO HER SPINE. I know it is a pain that many of us cannot relate to, and the few who can, it is a nightmare they do not want to wake up in again. However, the disease does affect us indirectly - those of us who are not sick. We panic from the fear of losing the ones we love. We wake up every day, hoping that it is going to be okay. We are worried every day might be their last. Questions running through our minds, “What if the chemo and hormone therapies don’t work? What if the cancer comes back?”

It is a time that they need our help most, and it is a moment they need our strength. My auntie was diagnosed with the disease in March 2020. Since then, she has been struggling to fight it. We were shocked to learn from the doctor that the disease has already metastasized to her spine. This is making it extremely expensive for her to cover the medical bills. The pandemic has made it ten times harder.Failure to seek medical attention will result in her leaving three KIDS WITHOUT A MOTHER to take care of them.

THE ASK

I believe "great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” You and I can save my auntie’s kids' mother by praying for them and contributing what we can towards her medical bills. It doesn’t have to be an enormous amount especially now, I understand that we are all tight on the small savings we got. Seeing that we cannot afford to raise more cash while indoors, I feel terrible that I have to ask you to sacrifice the one, two, or fiver dollar you got. She needs $50,000 to fight this uninvited guest slowly killing her from the inside and destroying her beautiful smile in the outside. With your help, prayers, and generous contributions, we can work miracles.

WHY SHE NEEDS YOU AND ME NOW

She is a seamstress, which makes it hard for her to cover the expensive medical bills. On the other hand, her husband is a mechanic. She has three young children who look up to her every day. The fact everyone is in lockdown does make it harder for her the husband to raise enough money to cater for basic family needs. They truly need you and me to support them. I wish there were a better way to phrase it, but "CANCER IS A DREAM KILLER."

THE DONATION

The funding will help the family ease the burden through the pandemic by paying for her chemotherapy, medication and other essential needs in the hospital.
