Joven decided to try his luck in joining the lottery for this event with just one ticket. With a 1 in 5,000 chance of getting picked, he got in! While thousands of qualified trail runners from all over the world don't get picked even after trying for five consecutive years, and some just get waitlisted, luck and good karma was on Joven's side during the draw.

He beat the odds and this is why we're being persistent that he should join the WSER100. Having just gotten in is already a blessing, being able to finish would mean even more.

Athletes get by with the help from sponsors. Sponsors come in forms of family, friends, colleagues, fellow-athletes and then there are the angel/anonymous sponsors. Sponsors are those who believe in the athlete and his/her abilities, they want to be part of the ups and downs and success of the athlete. Sponsors give from the heart.

Joven crossing that finish line would also mean that he'd be The First Cordilleran (having Mankayan and Bontoc roots) to finish The Western States 100-mile Endurance Run ever.

We will be conducting fun runs, bake sales and other ways to come up with the money aside from just depending on sponsors.

If you want to contribute in helping to partially finance this dream, please send us a message and we will send you the details as well as answer any questions you may have. Any amount will be dearly appreciated as it is always the thought that counts!
