After I finished elementary school in 1988, in my hometown back in Nigeria, I was eager to gain admission into high school. However, the hope of continuing my education was shatterred by the bad news I received from my mother. She had told me that my dream of going to secondary school (high school) would not be possible. The reason was solely due to financial reason. She had lamented to me that she would not be able to afford my tuitions through high school. After my father passed away in 1986, life has been a bit tough. However, adjusting from a full time house wife to being the breadwinner for the family may have been even harder for my mother. The alternative option to education was for me to learn either capentry or become a merchanic. I cried for days.

Through God's devine intervention, the dream of continuing my education was rekindled again. There was a man who was leaving in the same neighborhood with us. He was a school teacher in the same high school I had chosen as my first chioce. We were not related in anyway and were not even from the same county. Ironically, we happened to share the same last name. Out of compasion for me, he told my mother that he would sponsor me through secondary school. I was really excited about the prospect of realizing my dream, however, I was equally worried about how long this man was going to keep his promise. By the grace of God, the man, who is now my adopted uncle, kept his promise and sponsored me through my six years in high school.  Through his kindness and support over the years, I did not only complete my secondary education, I also became a college graduate with a masters degree. His kind love and generosity also made me the first college graduate in my paternal lineage.

July 18, 2015 is my wedding day. See wedding website. www.ifyandemmanuel.com As a token of appreciation for all this man has done for me, I want to fly him from Nigeria to Birmingham to come and be a part of my wedding day. The man, whom I now call my uncle, has been there for me all through these years. With his unwavering supports and love. When I lost my mother in 2011, this man was there for me. I want him to be a part of my special day.

Financially, I can't do this on my own. Therefore, I am appealing to any kind hearted person who is reading through this page to join hands with me to say a big "thank you" to my uncle. Your kind contribution, in any way, will go along way to purchase a flight ticket for him to come to Birmingham for my wedding. This will be his first visit to the States and I want it to be memorable for him. God bless you as you contribute

Thank you!
