A fathers’ love

A fundraising for my father who is currently fighting for his life.

My father's name is Bernardo Tilde Vendiola, he is 65 years old, my mother's name is Salvacion C. Vendiola, she is 57 years old. My father used to work as a construction worker for the last 40 years, he insisted on working even though his old because he always say if he just stay in our house he might get sick.

But last year he decided to quit, maybe because his too old to be working on a construction company or maybe he is already feeling something bad in his body. He is not the kind of person to share his feelings, he always kept them to himself. My mother always worries about him.

My father is a happy person and a good father. He loves to sing, he plays guitar and make jokes whenever people are around him, he loves my mother so much and us his children. He gave us everything he could give even leaving nothing for himself. We are raised to be good children, respectful to our parents and to other people. The four of us(my brother and 2 younger sisters) all finished college because of his love and hard work.

Last October 11, 2020 my father began feeling sick, he experienced dizziness, he's vomiting, and he's really weak. We rushed him to the municipal hospital and stayed there for a week. But the doctor noticed that he is stuttering when he speak, so the doctor recommends to transfer him to the City Hospital so they can pinpoint what the problem really is. Then he was diagnosed with stroke, he was taken to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) then found out that one of the nerves on his brain is not working properly and cause damages to his cerebellum. He also has a problem in his heart and lungs. Then, He needs to undergo operation, luckily the doctors and the hospital allows him to undergo operation even though we don't have the money to pay for the initial operation fee. The operation was successful and he is now under observation, with no assurance if he is going to be okay.

Because of this we are presented with a lot of bills. We need to buy medicines every now and then from the day he entered the ICU, we need to pay for laboratory test almost everyday. Our daily expenses is about 9,000-18,000 pesos ($200-$400) a day.

We already used our savings, we already borrowed money from our friends and relatives, we already seek help from the government, but still, what we have right now is not enough for us to support our father's expenses everyday, this does not include our bill for the operation and the hospital which might reach to 1 Million pesos ($20,000) , and is still going up as the day goes by. Our currently bill as of November 20, 2020 is about 641, 021.22 pesos ($13278.46) this is just the partial bill and does not include the operation bill and the Doctors fee. And we are afraid that he might undergo another operation because his heart and lungs also has a problem.

We have no one to turn to, what we have right now is running out and is not enough for the coming days because there is no assurance on when he is getting well and be out of the hospital. What we are really worried is the money to buy for his medicines and pay his laboratory test everyday.

I' m begging you, please help us. It breaks my heart to see him there fighting for his life and I can do nothing. I want him to get well but all I have right now is my faith in God, and my faith that somewhere out there, there are people with good heart that can help us, even if how small it is we will be very grateful.
