Life has really something to offer. Good and not so good. But what life is without challenges along the way, isn’t it?

My name is Aren, only child. Growing up for me was not easy. Moving the track fast forward on my college days, I was a working student. I studied in the morning and worked part time in the evening as a fast food chain crew. During those times, I was able to support my finances as a student and at least helped the finances of the family. I learned the hard way. I thank God that He has bestowed me perseverance, I was able to finish a bachelor’s degree at a good university. I could say that I have a good and strong personality, as what my friends would always tell me. However, a great rock hit me. Even more challenging than anything I have experienced so far.

August of 2016, my 54-year-old mother was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer II-B. The news came to me harder than I expected. I kept my faith strong.

The doctors found a cyst on her cervix. They decided not to have an operation right away and do some tests first to properly diagnose it. They did a biopsy and found out that my mother's disease was rare and would be dangerous to be operated. The cyst was later found out to be the cancerous type and prone to spreading if triggered.

We were advised to go under radiotherapy for 28 sessions. Week after week had gone by. Going back and forth to the hospital has never been easy for me and I know, it is never easy for my mother and especially to my father. Months passed by after doing the radiotherapy and brachytherapy, we saw something had improved. Thank God!

We continued with my mother's treatment and lab tests but last March my cheerfulness went away, we were informed by her doctor that the cancer cells metastasized and already spreaded in her lungs. She needs to undergo chemotherapy with an increased dosage that will expose both good and bad cells of her body. Due to financial constraints, we can't start the chemotherapy.

Two weeks ago, I rushed her again to the hospital because of severe abdominal pain. She was admitted for 2 weeks and diagnosed with Partial Bowel Obstruction secondary to Cervical Cancer and Acute Cystitis. She needs to undergo Colostomy operation that would cost more or less a hundred and fifty thousand pesos for the operation alone. We still have an outstanding balance that we need to pay in the last hospital my Mom stayed at.

My family is in dire need, emotionally, physically and financially. We are only holding on to our faith and I know, this site is another way to shed us some light.

We are keeping our faith in the Lord, that He may touch those kind hearts of yours to become the medium of His great work. God will always provide.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

Matthew 7:7.

I am an only child and am the only one working in our family. We're just a poor family and can hardly afford these enormous medical expenses that's currently on our shoulders. I’m knocking at your kind hearts, that you extend your blessing to us so that we can continue to keep up with the medical costs and keep my mother alive.

My family would be eternally grateful if you can extend your help.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
