2013- September of this year, my mom, Gemma Biadoma Perez was diagnosed with cervical cancer stage 2b. She went thru several treatments like radiation, brachytherapy and chemotherapy for almost 2 months.
2014- April 2014, she started complaining of severe abdominal pain and hematochezia (blood in the stool) and on June 2014, diagnostics tests (ct scan & colonoscopy) were made and found out that she had myoma uteri, and developed radiation colitis (injury of the colon caused by radiation therapy). July 2014 she went thru total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oopherectomy (tahbso) and colostomy. Years later, she again complained of hematuria (blood in urine). She was also confined due to anemia and had blood transfusion. On her ct scan, doctors found out that she again developed radiation cystitis.
2016- September of this year, she had cystoscopy and instillation of formalin to stop the bleeding. Years passed, of medical and laboratory follow ups we’re thankful that she’s cancer free up to present but the complications of radiation therapy is beyond our control.
2019- She again complained of hematuria. Laboratories done, and showed that there’s an increase of wbc and decreased hemoglobin. April of 2019, she had to repeat cystocopy and instillation of formalin and to find out, she also had cystolithiasis (bladder stone) and had caused the irritation and bleeding of the bladder. Blood transfusion, antibiotics, cystoclysis where some of the treatments made, and after a week of confinement, she was discharged. A month later, she again had high grade fever & chills. She was rushed to the hospital due to severe urinary tract infection. July came, and we made some blood tests for checking and this time, creatinine level’s increasing. So we went to the doctor, and had her ct scan. Ct scan result showed that there is still evidence of cystitis and bilateral hydronephoris. Stents were placed last week of July and after a week or two, she had fever and chills, loss of appetite and severe vomitting.
So again we rushed up to the hospital and up to present, she is still confined. 6 packs of packed rbc were transfused, high dose of antibiotics and other meds given, foley catheter inserted, cystoclysis maintained, iv insertions here and there, and currently, she is undergoing hemodialysis because of relatively high level of creatinine. Currently, on her 10th day, she has still on and off fever, weakness and loss of appetite. As of this moment at 4am, Im still up figuring out what else should be done.
On out 19th day Our hospital bill has reached P600,000 ++ without professional fees pa in And as a child, “only child” I will do everything just to keep her.... That’s why I am humbly asking for your help... Whatever help/donation you can give, will be used for her treatments and possible surgical operation. We deeply appreciate your kindness from the bottom of our hearts. God will bless you more.
Love knows no bounds.❤️❤️❤️
