A cause I care about needs help

My name is Rugy. I created this gogetfund because I would like your assistance with reaching a goal of raising up to $1500 for two amazing non-profit organizations based in Sierra Leone. I would like to reach my goal before the big event: Poetry for a Cause on January 27th, 2019 starting at 4:00 PM at Smiths Commons located at 1245 H Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002. ( WE WILL BE ACCEPTING DONATIONS AT THE PARTY AS WELL :) )

The reason for this event:SADAQAH.

Sadaqah is Arabic for voluntary charity. Sadaqah is defined as “Giving something to somebody without seeking a substitute in return and with the intention of pleasing Allah.”

I have been blessed with so much over the years and every birthday I challenge myself to bless others. For my upcoming birthday, I decided that Poetry for a CAUSE will be an effective way to raise money for two amazing non-profit organizations based in Sierra Leone; Angels to Angel and Sinava, inc.

The primary mission of Angels to Angels Sierra Leone is to assist girls to stay in school and attain a high school education.

The primary mission for Sinava, Inc is to provide school & health supplies to Sierra Leoneans to help improve health awareness & foster learning.

My goal for this campaign is to raise up to $1500 via GoGetFund. The secondary goal for this campaign is for each organization to either continue to provide educational support with the money raised or coordinate a mental health workshop for the children they support.

Sinava, Inc is fully on board for the mental health workshop. The topic of Mental Illness is a BIG stigma in Sierra Leone. Open conversations will demystify Mental Illness. RugyJoy is committed to supporting any organization willing to center mental health in their mission.

100% of the proceeds will be divided evenly and giving to Angel to Angel & Sinava, Inc.

Transparency is absolutely important to me, therefore I will give updates on funds as i can.
