My name is Temitope Onifade and I want to feed Nigeria. 70% of Nigeria’s poultry and eggs are imported. This results in expensive produce that the average Nigerian cannot afford. I want to change that. Having grown up on a farm in the Southwest of Nigeria I knew I’d want to own a farm later in life. I lived up to that dream. I have a dream for that small piece of land; to convert it into a poultry farm. This way I can provide my community and country with quality food at lower costs. My plan is to better my people as I better myself.
You can help me achieve this.
This is a project close to my heart because I want to help my community. In the short term, I can provide quality produce for my community and set up a sustainable business model. My long term goal is to register my farm as a business, create employment and run it as a profitable enterprise that provides for my family. Your kind donations can make this a reality.
My target is $12,700 broken down as follows,
Purchase land: $1000
2 chicken coops: $1000 (materials plus labor)
Purchase 120 layers: $300
Chicken feed for 4 months (prior to laying): $1000
Vet services for early care (4 months): $600
Yard enclosure (brick wall): $1200
Bajaji (i.e tuk tuk, 3-wheeled motorcycle for transport): $1000
Given my experience as a farmer I am confident I can make this business work. I have estimated that the monthly profit from eggs alone will be $700. Such a figure can greatly help my family and community.
I hope that my passion for farming and thoughtful goals bring you on board. Your decision to help will change a community and possibly a nation.
E se pupo!
Thank you very much!
And to those who will receive this from a friend and are moved to contribute – Thank you.
I’ll post updates here, but feel free to reach out if you want to see how things are going.
