Our Better Life

Our Better Life campaign is for my family to have a better life.

Let me tell you a little about my family. I am married to a beautiful woman and her name is Paula. Our son is Vincenzo and we have two wonderful dogs, Anna is a German Shepherd Dog and Bernard is a Mastiff.

We currently live in Upstate New York where the cost of living is pretty high. Due to some set backs, money has been pretty tight. I am working 3 Jobs as a Paramedic to try and make ends meet and my wife is working 2 jobs. In my spare time (which isn’t much) I am volunteering for my local fire department. My wife and I have not seen each other a lot lately and I think she is a little frustrated with that, but is very understanding.

We have recently made the decision to seek other employment to where we both only have to work one job each and spend time with each other and stop missing my son's school functions and sporting events. We also need to be warm.I know it sound silly, but it’s a need, not a want. Her “trick” knee does not like the cold and as for myself, I have a circulation problem in my hands.Any cold weather they freeze.

One evening we were sitting, eating supper, and were discussing that this past winter how it was so cold and brutal with over 200 inches of snow. Our son said to us "I want to go to school in Texas and come back here in the summer to visit." So, with that being said we made a few inquiries.

I have to say God has been good to us.My wife has been offered a job doing pediatric occupational therapy. As for myself, I have been offered a job as paramedic for a very reputable and professional EMS service.

Now here is the big dilemma. The company wants me to be there on July 6th. We are concern that we will not have the funding needed to make the move. Summer is the most expensive time of the year for any move. We are very excited about this move and are hoping it will as stress free as possible. We are trying to be as minimalistic as possible, but we have quite a few belongings. Also, we are trying to find a place where we can keep our dogs. They have been part of our family for quite awhile and pray we do not have to be separated from them. That would devastate our family.

We are not and have never been a burden to anyone or the “system”. We are hard working people that are trying to make a better life for ourselves. We do not ever want to be a drain on the system.

Further more, we may not need or use all of the funding. Once we start our new positions, we should be doing okay with our finances. My goal for any extra funding will be donated to my favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I believe in this foundation because they give our children a fighting chance.

So, if you could see it in you hearts to help us with our cause, we would be forever grateful.

Thank you for your support,

Sean Morganti

  • Eric, thank you for all of your support. We start our trip back tomorrow. I hope things are going well in Austin. Every little bit helps out. Now we just need more prayers for a safe journey home.

Hotel Living

Update posted by Sean Morganti at 10:28 pm

Hotel living stinks! We are not in a house/apartment yet. Still trying to raise some extra funding and the first paycheck will not be here for another 3 weeks. Its hard trying to find a place that will take the dogs.

  • I don't have much myself as I'm picking up overtime to try to make ends meet here while missing functions etc. myself. I'll throw the first 20 in and cut it out of something else! good luck guys! I know you will do well in the new setting. I am sure you are more than humbled by having to ask and I give you a lot of credit for that . I will share this and encourage anybody to donate anything, even a dollar.
